A Thursday-evening martial arts class at the Hazelwood Community Center for youth ages 7 and up and adults together. USMA certified black belts teach skills drawn from judo, jiu jitsu and karate, with an emphasis on tae kwon do, and students of every skill level are welcome. Participants advance in rank through regular attendance. Comfortable clothes are fine; the instructor shares optional uniform information on the first night. Classes run from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays through mid-December, with no class on Thanksgiving (November 26). An optional Tuesday-night practice is also offered. The session fee is $62 for residents and $72 for non-residents.
