Hazelwood Parks and Recreation stages a mess-free snowball battle at the Hazelwood Community Center on Friday, Dec. 18. The story: the Yetis have wandered into town and it is up to the kids to send them back to the mountains. Armed with soft, fake snowballs, players run, dodge and throw for 60 minutes of active fun with no score to keep — snowball-fight excitement without the cold or the wet. There are two sessions by age: Session I for ages 5 to 8 runs 6 to 7 p.m., and Session II for ages 9 to 12 runs 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. The fee is $13 for residents and $15 for non-residents.
