About this adventure

Lebanon's 33rd annual Victorian Holiday turns historic St. Louis Street into a two-day Christmas celebration. On Friday evening the Ole Lamplighter leads a procession with carolers at 6 pm, lighting the shop windows along the street, while local dance schools and the O'Fallon High School madrigal choir perform on the brick street. Families can pose at the Mistletoe Gazebo in the Mini Park and get free photos with Father Christmas. Saturday is the bigger day for children. From noon to 3 pm the Lebanon Visitors Center hosts free face painting, letters to Santa, an ornament craft and coloring sheets, and kids can paint rocks at Moon Penguin's Emporium. Live reindeer stand at the corner of St. Louis and Madison streets from noon to 2 pm, Santa Claus arrives by carriage at 12:30 pm, led by a procession in Victorian attire, and free photos with Santa follow from 1 to 4 pm. A petting zoo runs from 3 to 5 pm, and the lamplighter ceremony repeats at 6 pm. Horse-drawn carriage rides run on both days, with boarding and ticket sales at the Looking Glass Playhouse; on Saturday the horses take a break from 4 to 5 pm. The Lebanon Historical Society Museum on West St. Louis Street is on the attractions list, with donations welcome.
