About this adventure

First Christian Academy's Thanksgiving-morning race returns to Jay B. Starkey Park in New Port Richey for its 14th year, and families are invited to run, walk or stroll the park together. The chip-timed 5K starts at 7:30 a.m. (runners need to cross the start between 7:30 and 7:40 for an accurate time), and the 1 Mile Fun Run, which the school bills as a race for all ages, follows at 8:30. Fun-run finishers get the same medal, dry-fit shirt and backpack as the 5K field, and the top three in each 5K age group take home a trophy. Music and vendors fill out the morning, and the event is pet friendly. Entry is $40 for the 5K and $35 for the fun run; there is also a virtual 5K. Online registration closes at 8 a.m. on November 23. All proceeds support First Christian Academy's students.
