About this adventure

The Kiwanis Club of Brooksville and a local Edward Jones office host a Thanksgiving-morning race at Tom Varn Park with two options: a timed 5K and a 1-mile fun run meant for all ages and fitness levels, which is the easy choice for young children and families who want to walk it together. Check-in opens at 7 a.m. and both races start at 8 a.m., so everyone is done in time for the holiday meal. Kids' entries are discounted, with a separate rate for teens. Proceeds go to the Shop With a Cop Foundation, which pairs local children in need with law enforcement officers for a day of holiday shopping and mentoring. Register online ahead of time; race T-shirts were guaranteed only for registrations by November 1, children 12 and under do not receive shirts, and extra shirts can be bought.
