About this adventure
A Halloween-morning nature craft with the rangers at First Landing State Park's Trail Center. Children learn how bats help the ecosystem through pest control, pollination and seed dispersal, hear bat facts, debunk common myths, and find out how to help protect these misunderstood animals. Then each child designs and decorates a bat craft based on species found at First Landing to take home. The program lasts an hour, needs no registration and has no extra fee beyond the standard park parking fee. It is easy to pair with a walk on the park's trails.
