Prince George's Parks marks the 40th year of its drive-through Festival of Lights at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, open nightly from November 27, 2026 through January 1, 2027. Families drive the park roads past more than 90 new light displays from the comfort of the car, which suits babies and toddlers on cold nights. The entrance on Route 202 opens at 5:30 pm and closes at 9:30 pm. Admission is a flat rate per vehicle — $20 for a standard car — paid at the gate with cash or card, and New Year's Day is free. Wagon (hay) rides through the lights are sold separately online at $15 per adult and $10 per child; arrive at the gate an hour before the reservation. The park also collects hats, scarves, gloves and socks for local shelters.
