About this adventure

Montgomery Parks' new School's Out Sport Days give children a full day of supervised sports on days when Montgomery County Public Schools are closed. The two November sessions fall on the Monday and Tuesday around Election Day (November 2 and 3). Kids aged 6 to 12 spend 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the indoor Wheaton Sports Pavilion rotating through different sports, with coaching that focuses on skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship, plus arts and crafts and other games between activities. Each day is registered and paid separately through Montgomery Parks' online registration system, children must bring a packed lunch, and mandatory forms are emailed after registration and must be completed before the program day. It is a practical option for working parents on a school-closure day and a good fit for active kids who like trying several sports.
