Science Saturday at the Maggie Nightingale Library in Poolesville takes children on a trip to the deep blue sea on Saturday, December 12, from 3 to 4 p.m. Presenters from Science Connections explore the ocean from sunlit shallows to the dark depths: kids investigate ocean chemistry, meet sea creatures, discover how salt water shapes life beneath the waves and learn why ocean ecosystems matter for the whole planet. It is for children ages 6 to 10. Space is limited and registration is required, online or by phone at 240-773-9550, beginning three weeks before the event. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Montgomery County. The library is at 19633 Fisher Avenue, Poolesville.
