About this adventure
On holiday-season weekends the Atlanta Botanical Garden runs the Botanical Express, a small ride-on train that carries passengers on a loop around the Great Lawn during daytime hours. It is a short ride aimed squarely at preschoolers and early-elementary children, and it pairs naturally with the garden's indoor Holiday Model Trains display and, on Saturdays, a visit to Botanical Santa. Every rider needs a train ticket regardless of age, children under 3 must ride with an adult, and the train does not run in bad weather. Train tickets are bought on top of the garden's timed-entry daytime admission, which all guests need. Runs on Saturdays and Sundays from mid-November through the first weekend of January, including the weekends after Christmas.
