About this adventure
Georgetown starts its holiday season the evening after Thanksgiving on the east steps of the historic Williamson County Courthouse. Live entertainment runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and at about 6 p.m. city and county leaders flip the switch that lights the courthouse, its grounds and the lights around the downtown Square, which stay on through the season. Many shops on the Square stay open late. After the lighting, Williamson County Brown Santa offers photos with Santa inside the courthouse from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in exchange for an unwrapped toy or a monetary donation; enter on the south side from Eighth Street. Toy donations for Georgetown Police Blue Santa and Brown Santa are encouraged. Free parking is available at several downtown lots and the garages at Sixth and Main and at Fourth and Rock streets.
