About this adventure

Wimberley opens its Hometown Holidays season on Saturday, November 28, with a lighted parade through the downtown square. Families line the streets at 6 p.m. to watch festive floats, marching bands, classic cars and Santa's sleigh glowing after dark. When the parade wraps up, the crowd moves to the Christmas Courtyard downtown, where the toy drive collects new, unwrapped toys for local children, kids can meet Santa in person, and everyone gathers around the big tree for the tree lighting ceremony. The parade and lighting are free to watch, so the only thing to bring is a toy to donate and something warm for the evening. Plan to arrive early for a curbside spot and parking, since the parade follows straight on from the 5 p.m. opening of the EmilyAnn Trail of Lights just up FM 2325, and many families do both in one evening.
