About this adventure
During Thanksgiving week, when schools are out, the Lake Travis Community Library in Lakeway sets up a drop-in craft table where children weave their own Thanksgiving placemats. The library supplies all the materials, so families just show up any time during the hour, make a placemat and take it home for the holiday table. Weaving paper or fabric strips is manageable for preschoolers with a little help and satisfying for school-age kids, and it is an easy, free-form activity for a school-holiday morning. The craft is held in the Lakeway meeting room.
