About this adventure

McKinney Roughs is an LCRA nature park on the Colorado River between Bastrop and Austin, with miles of multiuse trails through the Lost Pines edge, river bottomland and rugged hills. Families can hike, mountain bike or ride horseback on the trails, look for birds, snakes and pond life, and book guided adventures such as UTV tours, river rafting, a high-ropes course and the Zip Lost Pines zip line tour (age, weight and fee rules apply to each). The park also runs seasonal family programs such as the Family Nature Quest and holiday events. It is open daily from sunrise to sunset, and the gift shop is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Day entry is $5 for adults, $2 for seniors 65 and older, military and visitors with disabilities, and free for children 12 and younger.
