About this adventure
Severn Library holds its sensory-friendly storytime on alternate Monday mornings for children from birth to age 5 who have a hard time in large groups, are autistic, or get overwhelmed by noise and crowds. Sessions are kept deliberately small and calm, and the library frames them as judgment-free, so a child who needs to wander, flap or step out is part of the group rather than a disruption. Brothers and sisters can join in. Each hour-long session mixes stories with songs and movement suited to toddlers and preschoolers, held in the branch's community meeting room on Annapolis Road. Space is limited: online registration opens two weeks ahead of each date and covers the whole family with one sign-up. Severn Library also runs a separate drop-in Sensory Playtime on some Saturdays for sensory seekers.
