Lantern-lit evening tours of the Old Manse in Concord, the colonial home beside the North Bridge, decorated for the holiday season. Guides lead small groups through the house after dark, telling the stories of the historical figures who lived, worked and visited there over the decades and showing how their holiday celebrations changed over time. Lanterns are provided. Tours run at 4 and 4:30pm on the listed dates from late November through New Year's Eve; check in at the bookstore and arrive 10-15 minutes before your tour. It suits school-age children with an interest in history and families looking for a quiet holiday outing; there are child tickets. Space is limited and advance registration is recommended. The house has several flights of steep stairs and is not wheelchair accessible, and there is no public restroom on site (restrooms are at the Concord Visitor Center). Parking is in the Old Manse lot.
