A free hands-on workshop at the Trustees' City Natives Plant Nursery in Mattapan about winter squash and pumpkins, key late-season crops that store well into winter. Participants help harvest and taste-test two varieties: New England Pie Pumpkin and Jamaican Pumpkin (calabaza). The workshop takes place during the nursery's weekly free food distribution hosted by PanLyfe, and visitors are invited to walk the nursery grounds before or after. Free and open to all, with no registration needed; the site is a short walk from the Mattapan bus and trolley stop, and street parking is available.
