Greater Derry Track Club (GDTC)

The Greater Derry Track Club's 53rd annual Thanksgiving Day 5K loops clockwise around the residential roads of Beaver Lake, starting from Gallien's Town Beach. Walkers are welcome, and there is a discounted kids' division for children 13 and under on race day, so families can run or stroll the certified 3.1-mile course together. Every entrant is asked to bring a non-perishable food item (or a small cash donation) for food pantries in the Greater Derry area. There is no parking on Route 102: park at Pinkerton Academy and take the continuous shuttle buses, which run from 7:30 to 11:00 am. Packet pickup is Sunday, November 22, 10 am-2 pm at Derry Sports and Rehab (23A Crystal Ave) or Wednesday, November 25, 4-8 pm at Gallien's Beach, with race-day pickup also available. Adults who register by November 1 get a long-sleeve shirt; kids' entries do not include a shirt. Post-race snacks and drinks are provided.
