A winter solstice evening at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln. Families watch the last of the sunset and then explore the sculpture park in the dark while members of the Aldrich Astronomical Society, one of the oldest astronomy clubs in the country, point telescopes at constellations, planets and other seasonal sights. There are self-guided activities for all ages, and museum guides lead lantern tours. Bring a flashlight or lantern and dress in warm layers. The deCordova Store and Twisted Tree Cafe are open for warm drinks, treats and holiday shopping. Pricing is per carload, which makes it an affordable family outing. Stargazing depends on the weather and the program may be rescheduled by email if skies are poor.
