Cambridge's long-running Midwinter Revels returns to Harvard's Sanders Theatre for the 2026 season with An American Celebration of the Solstice, a multi-generational show of songs, dances and stories drawn from 19th-century life on the Great Plains and the Polish, Irish, German, Indigenous, Chinese and Black families who shaped it. Longtime master of ceremonies David Coffin leads the singing, and the audience joins in on carols and the traditional Lord of the Dance moments that make Revels a family holiday tradition. A preview performance on Friday, December 11 is followed by 15 performances through Monday, December 28, including a Winter Solstice show on December 21. Student and child tickets are discounted at every price level, and Revels also offers discounts for EBT and WIC cardholders. Free smartphone closed captioning is available at all performances and ASL interpretation at select ones. Tickets are sold through the Harvard Box Office.
