Around Thanksgiving, Discovery Museum sets up an outdoor StoryWalk of Traci Sorell's picture book We Are Grateful: Otsaliheliga, a story that follows a full Cherokee year of celebrations from fall to summer and shows how members of the Cherokee Nation say otsaliheliga to express gratitude while also reflecting on past struggles. Families follow the trail of pages outdoors, reading as they walk, which makes it a good way to mix fresh air and reading with younger children. It is open 9:00 am to 4:30 pm daily from November 20 through November 29 and is free with museum admission.
