On Halloween morning the Gaston County Public Library's Main Library in Gastonia holds a Not So Spooky Storytime for the whole family in its Story Nook. Librarians read Halloween stories that are fun rather than frightening and follow them with Halloween crafts, so it suits toddlers and preschoolers who want to celebrate without scares, along with older siblings. Costumes fit right in. The session runs 45 minutes, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., leaving the rest of the day free for trick-or-treating. No registration or fee is mentioned on the library calendar.
