About this adventure
For the first time, the Monroe Christmas Parade has a Sensory Area: a quieter place to watch the parade, set up near the corner of Jefferson and N. Church Street in downtown Monroe. The City of Monroe added it for anyone who wants a calmer parade experience, which suits children who find crowds, drums and engine noise hard, and their families. The parade itself is the 73rd in Monroe, with more than 100 floats, princesses, marching bands, classic cars and horses coming down Main Street on Sunday, November 22, 2026, from 2 p.m., rain or shine. The city has not yet published what the area offers beyond quieter viewing, how many people it holds or whether it needs a reservation, and the parade route and parking map were still to come when this was checked; look at the city's parade page shortly before the day. Arrive early, as the city advises for the whole parade, and bring ear protection, chairs and warm layers if your child uses them.
