Children and their parents board a train at the Hickory Creek Metra Station in Mokena on Sunday, December 6 for a ride to the 'North Pole.' On the way, Santa's elves make balloon animals while families listen to The Polar Express story; at the North Pole, Santa joins the train for the trip back, with holiday cookies and music. Trains depart at 9:30 am and 11:20 am sharp. Every child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and households may buy up to six tickets. Tickets cost $25 for Frankfort Park District residents, sold first through a resident lottery with forms due at the Founders Community Center by November 4 at 4 pm; non-residents pay $35 if tickets remain.
