About this adventure

In January the Kane County Forest Preserve District's Twigs to Trees club for kindergarten through second-grade students takes 'Science of Snow & Ice' as its theme. Like every session of the series, the hour at Creek Bend Nature Center investigates a seasonal nature theme by exploring the woods of LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve through nature-based play, so expect time outside in winter conditions as well as hands-on discovery. It suits curious early-elementary children who enjoy science and being outdoors, and fills a weekday after-school hour. This is a drop-off program: parents and caregivers do not stay with their children. Dress children to play outside in the cold, with boots, hats and gloves. Advance registration is required and the fee is $5 per child; questions go to Creek Bend Nature Center at 630-444-3190.
