About this adventure
The January session of Little Saplings, the monthly preschool nature program at Creek Bend Nature Center, takes 'Hibernators!' as its theme. Little Saplings is geared to three- to five-year-olds with a parent or caregiver, and each session explores the theme of the month through a mix of stories, nature hikes, songs, games and crafts, making it a gentle first nature-science class and a reason to get outside with a preschooler in deep winter. A caregiver must stay with the child throughout the hour. Registration is required in advance and costs $5 per child. Bring warm outdoor clothes in case the group heads outside into LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, and plan to stay afterward to explore the nature center's interactive exhibits.
