Organizer

City of Allen Parks and Recreation

The City of Allen's full-size indoor rink (85 by 200 feet, seating for over 300 spectators) offers Open Skate sessions for new and experienced skaters at one of the lowest prices in the area: $7 admission and $3 skate rental, with discount punch cards for repeat visits. Because the ice is shared with hockey, figure skating and rentals, open skate is not available every day, and times change; check the Open Skate calendar before you go. Families with beginners should know that skate aids and buckets are not allowed during Open Skate because the ice gets crowded; staff will give tips instead. The rink also runs Learn to Skate classes, figure skating, youth hockey, stick time and freestyle sessions, and has locker rooms, a pro shop and skate sharpening. Group rates are available by phone.
