Frisco Square's real-ice outdoor rink returns for its 16th season as part of Christmas in the Square, the free nightly lights-and-music show (6-10 pm) presented with the City of Frisco. The 80-by-55-foot rink sits at the corner of Main and Coleman next to Firehouse Subs. Each reservation is one hour on the ice; tickets cost the same whether you rent skates or bring your own. Rental sizes start at children's size 8 and go up to adult 13. Walk-ins are accepted when space allows, and family members who are not skating can watch for free from outside the rink. Wear socks and gloves and dress for the weather. Skates must come off before using the two public restrooms on Coleman Blvd. The rink closes on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and in bad weather; Frisco Square posts weather closures on its Facebook and Instagram pages. Santa visits and horse carriage rides are also part of Christmas in the Square.
