About this adventure

Irving's Thanksgiving-morning race starts and finishes on the plaza at the Toyota Music Factory in Las Colinas, and it is set up so families can be home in time for turkey. Adults choose between a flat, fast 5K run or walk up and back along Las Colinas Boulevard and an 8-mile route around Lake Carolyn and the Las Colinas Urban Center, and children can be registered for the Tot Trot, the race's kids' run. The morning opens with a pre-race festival at 7:30 a.m., a welcome ceremony, a costume award for the best-dressed team and a group warm-up, followed by the 8-mile start at 9 a.m. and the 5K at 9:15 a.m., then awards and a post-race party at the music venue. Registration includes chip timing and free professional photos. Everyone running needs a visible bib, and late starts are not allowed, so plan to arrive an hour early. Parking is in the Urban Towers garage next door.
