MainStage Irving-Las Colinas, Irving's community theater, opens its 2026–2027 season with Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella in the Irving Arts Center's Dupree Theater. This is the contemporary Broadway version, with Douglas Carter Beane's funny, romantic new book wrapped around the classic songs, including In My Own Little Corner, Impossible/It's Possible and Ten Minutes Ago: Cinderella escapes her stepmother and stepsisters with help from her fairy godmother and wins the prince. A familiar fairy tale with lively music, it is a good first full-length musical for school-age children, with a run of three weekends from early to late November that gives families several chances to go before the holiday rush. Evening shows start at 7:30 p.m.; check the ticket site for matinees and the full calendar.
