Royal Oak Public Library with the Sloan Museum

Educators from the Sloan Museum lead a hands-on archeology workshop for children ages 8 to 12 at Royal Oak Public Library. Kids step into the shoes of an archeologist: they take part in an excavation simulation, map out and explore the dig site, and look for clues to learn about the past of the objects they uncover. The workshop runs Tuesday, November 17, 2026, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Youth Activity Room and is limited to 25 children. It is free; registration is required (register only the children attending) and opens November 3, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. An accompanying adult must stay with the child. Age limits are enforced.
