About this adventure

Bloomfield Oaks – Johnson Nature Center holds its annual Family-Friendly Fishing Event on Halloween morning, a calm outdoor alternative to the busy trick-or-treat evening. Families head out to the nature center's four-acre pond with their own fishing pole, or borrow one from the nature center, and spend the morning trying to catch fish while taking in the fall colors. It suits children who are new to fishing as well as those who already love it, and groups of up to six people can register together, so grandparents, cousins and friends can share a spot on the bank. The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, October 31. The fee is $10 per person, children age 1 and younger are free, and preregistration through Oakland County Parks is required. Dress for a cool late-October morning by the water.
