About this adventure
A Thanksgiving-break, drop-off cooking camp for Junior Chefs ages 9 to 14 at The Culinary Center of Kansas City in Overland Park. Over three hours a chef leads the group through a full Italian dinner from scratch: mixing and rolling egg pasta dough, simmering a marinara sauce, rolling and browning meatballs, and making garlic bread, plus a 'Grilla-Misu' dessert that riffs on tiramisu. The class is beginner-friendly and focuses on real skills such as measuring, mixing, knife work and sauce-making. Kids eat the meal together before pickup, take food home and get the recipes. Everything is provided, so campers need to bring nothing. A companion KC BBQ camp runs the next morning.
