About this adventure

Mayor Leonard Jones flips the switch on the Mayor's Christmas Tree at The View Community Center. Families come for a visit with Santa and carols from local school choirs, plus cookies and hot chocolate the page marks as free. The gathering is the city's kickoff for the holiday season and is aimed at households with children, not a ticketed concert. The page does not list a craft, a parade, or a photo package price. It also does not say how long Santa stays after the lights come on. Arrive by 6:00 p.m. if you want to be there for the switch. The View is the community center at 13500 Byars Rd., the same building that holds the North Pole mailboxes for letters to Santa.
