The Pasadena Ice Skating Center's Learn to Skate school teaches figure skating and hockey basics in weekly 30-minute group classes grouped by age and level: Tots for ages 3 to 5, Youth for ages 6 to 14, and Teens & Adults from 15. The tot curriculum starts with how to fall and get up, marching and two-foot glides, and builds through swizzles, one-foot glides and the snowplow stop; older beginners work through the Pre-Alpha to Delta levels before freestyle, and specialty classes cover synchronized skating, edges and power, and spins. Semesters run about ten weeks. The Winter semester runs December 2, 2026 to February 14, 2027, followed by Early Spring from February 17 to April 18, 2027; a five-week beginner session runs October 22 to November 22, 2026. Enrolled skaters get free rental skates for class, free public skating on class day, $2 off other public sessions and 10% off in the pro shop. In weeks 8–9 instructors hand out progress reports, and on the last day classes play games or skate a mini-program and receive a certificate. Helmets are optional but strongly recommended, and gloves or mittens help. Up to two make-up classes are allowed per semester, and the rink has a no-refund, no-credit policy; the class page does not list semester fees.
