On five Thursday evenings this season the Irvine Spectrum Center ice rink adds a live DJ and a dress-up theme to its 6 pm and 8 pm public sessions, and skaters who come dressed in the week's theme get $5 off admission. The 2026 themes are Jersey Night on November 12 (wear your favorite team's jersey), Holiday Hats on November 19, Ugly Sweater Night on December 3 and UCI Night on December 10 in support of UC Irvine, with the December 17 theme still to be announced. Each session lasts 90 minutes (6:00–7:30 pm and 8:00–9:30 pm), so the earlier slot is the easier fit for school-age children on a school night. Tickets are bought at the rink booth in SunWheel Court; regular admission includes skates, and helmets can be rented for $8. A festive sweater or hat doubles as a warm layer on the outdoor ice. The rink may close in bad weather, so call the box office before heading out on a wet evening.
