Irvine Spectrum Center sets up an outdoor ice rink each holiday season near the Spectrum SunWheel, and the rink page lists the 2026 season opening on November 6. Skating is in 90-minute public sessions starting at 2, 4, 6 and 8 pm every day, with an extra 10 pm session on Fridays and Saturdays; the rink is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day and runs shortened schedules on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The closing date has not been posted yet. Tickets are sold in person at the rink booth in SunWheel Court rather than at Guest Services, except 'Jump the Line' tickets, which are online only and use a separate entrance. Helmets are recommended and can be rented, which is worth doing for small children, and socks and lockers are available. Regular admission includes rental skates; skaters with their own pay a little less. The season calendar includes Themed Thursday nights with a DJ and a Skate with Santa morning on December 5 (both listed separately), plus Glide & Groove DJ sessions on Friday and Saturday evenings and on December 21–23. The rink is presented in partnership with the Anaheim Ducks and UC Irvine. Bad weather can close the ice, so call the box office before heading over on a wet day.
