The Rinks (Lakewood ICE)

Lakewood ICE, The Rinks' rink on Pixie Avenue in Lakewood, runs public ice skating every day and sells two session lengths, a 90-minute session and a longer 120-minute session. It keeps more than 1,000 pairs of professionally maintained hockey and figure skates for rent, and skate mates give new or unsteady skaters something to hold on to. Admission is sold online through a Daysmart family account until an hour before each session, or at the door for walk-ins. Every session has limited capacity, so holiday-week afternoons can fill, and purchases are non-refundable. Skaters check in at the front desk for an admission sticker and rental skates. Skate aids are rented first come, first served and cannot be reserved online. Weekend and holiday sessions may include a 10-minute resurfacing break, and advanced jumps and spins are reserved for freestyle sessions. Public session times change from week to week, so check the schedule before you go; the rink also lists special events on its own events page.
