About this adventure
Pretend City Children's Museum in Irvine opens after regular hours for a free, sensory-friendly and neuro-affirming play evening for neurodivergent children and their families. The museum dims its lights, turns off sounds and caps attendance at 250 guests while children explore the museum's pretend-play spaces. Whole families are encouraged to come, and therapists may attend with their clients. Staff can hand out noise-cancelling headphones, fidget toys, sunglasses and weighted materials on request. The nights normally fall on the second Tuesday and fourth Thursday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m.; in this window the Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve Thursdays move to November 19 and December 17. Registration is required for every date and opens two weeks before each night. The December 8 night is a special Santa edition listed separately.
