Organizer

Panthers IceDen (Florida Panthers)

The Panthers Skating Academy at Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs teaches the Learn to Skate USA curriculum in 30-minute group classes three days a week. New skaters ages 3 to 6 start in Snowplow Sam 1, ages 7 to 17 in Basic 1, and adults in the adult levels; coaches move each skater up as skills improve, and children can later branch into figure skating or the hockey path. Classes run by calendar month, and every class package also includes the same number of public skating sessions that month, so children can practise between lessons (skate rental $5). Helmets are required, and not provided, for Snowplow Sam 1–4, Basic 1 and Hockey 1 & 2; an all-sport compression helmet such as a bike helmet works. Arrive 30 minutes early to check in, collect a wristband and lace up, dress in warm layers and avoid jeans, and bring gloves. Coaches are U.S. Figure Skating/USA Hockey members with SafeSport training and background checks. First-time registrants get an academy sweatshirt.
