About this adventure

The Cedarburg Chamber of Commerce's annual tree lighting fills the Cedarburg Community Gym on Washington Avenue on the Monday after Thanksgiving. Santa arrives by holly, jolly trolley, and from 5:30 p.m. families get a Christmas concert, cookies, cider and carols, along with free make-and-take crafts set up by local businesses. The Cedarburg Junior Woman's Club runs a Secret Santa Workshop where children can pick out small gifts, and Santa's Mailbox for dropping off letters. The evening builds to the lighting of the tree at 7 p.m., led by Santa and local dignitaries. With crafts indoors and a fixed countdown, it works for preschoolers through elementary-age kids, and the early start lets little ones get home at a reasonable hour. Downtown Cedarburg's Friday-night luminaries and free trolley rides start the same month, so the tree lighting fits easily into a wider holiday visit to the historic downtown.
