About this adventure

Country Christmas turns the grounds of The Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee into a mile-long drive-through light trail, now in its 30th season. Families stay in the car and roll past more than a million lights, including Bearville and a 200-foot tunnel of 30,000 computer-controlled lights. Admission also covers two buildings at the end of the trail: Christmas Village, with a working model train display, hot chocolate and treats for sale, and The Streets of Bethlehem, a walk-through collection of nearly life-size Fontanini nativity figures. Village Park outside has a 42-foot Christmas tree, a walk-through light tunnel and the Country Christmas Train, which children can ride for $1. It is an easy outing for families with babies and toddlers, since nobody has to leave the warm car until the village stop. On some weeknights between November 29 and December 17 the hotel also runs separate $20-per-person wagon rides through the trail, with hot chocolate and a cookie included. Full-size school buses and coach buses are not allowed on the narrow, winding trail.
