Frelinghuysen Arboretum's mansion in Morristown is decorated for the holidays for the annual Festival of Trees. Visitors tour rooms filled with Christmas trees decorated by scouts, families, floral designers and garden clubs, and this year many of the trees are themed for America's 250th anniversary. The arboretum describes it as an outing for the family, though the listing's age field says 'Adults'. It is open from 10 am to 4 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, December 11–12 and 18–19, and daily December 29–31. Tickets are $10 per person. Preschoolers can also come on December 16 for a separate Story Hour held among the trees.
