- The Chatham Turkey Trot
The Chatham Turkey Trot marks its eighteenth year on Thanksgiving morning, starting under the American flag at 110 Van Houton Avenue in Chatham Township. Families can begin the day together with the 1 Mile Family Fun Run at 8:30 a.m., then stronger runners continue with the 5K at 9:00 a.m. The event raises money for local first responders and for diabetes causes. Entry fees are modest compared with many area trots, and the family mile is a gentle introduction to racing for school-age children. Full details and the race history are on the event's own website, with registration through RunSignup.
