About this adventure
CODA presents its annual Nutcracker at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank with four performances over the weekend of December 11–13. The ballet follows Clara and the Nutcracker Prince on their Christmas Eve journey to the Land of Sweets, and the Basie calls it a favorite tradition for performers and families alike, so expect many local young dancers on stage alongside the leads — a draw for children who take dance classes themselves. Afternoon shows at 1 pm on Saturday and Sunday are the best pick for younger children; there is also a Friday 7 pm and a Saturday 5 pm performance. Doors open an hour before each show in the Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster and the Basie box office (732-842-9000). This is a different production from American Repertory Ballet's Nutcracker at Two River Theater in the same town.
