About this adventure

Delaware County's Festival of Lights has lit up Rose Tree Park in Media for more than fifty years and draws about 100,000 visitors a season. It is a free walk-through display: dozens of illuminated trees and lit scenes are spread across the park's hillside, and families stroll the paths after dark through the darkest weeks of the year. The season opens with a tree lighting ceremony in early December with Delaware County Council, choral music, local vendors and a visit from Santa, and on several nights the county adds Delco Fare & Flair festivities with food trucks and vendors; for 2026 these are being scheduled for December 3, 5, 6, 12 and 13. Admission and parking are free, friendly leashed dogs are welcome, and handicapped parking is available. Note that the park's playground closes at 4:45 pm during the festival. Special events are weather permitting; the county posts cancellations on its parks line (610-891-4455).
