About this adventure

The Garnet Valley Turkey Trot starts from Garnet Valley High School in Glen Mills on Thanksgiving morning, with the 5K at 9 am and the 1-mile run at 9:10 am. Every 5K and mile participant receives a long-sleeve tee, a race bib and a medal, and a Best Dressed Turkey prize goes to the best-dressed group, adult turkey and kid turkey, so costumes are part of the fun. Fees are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the mile through October 29, then $35 and $25. Packet pickup runs November 22 to 24 at Chadds Ford West, 602 Chadds Ford Dr, Suite 300, and on-site check-in opens at 7:45 am; all registration is online, with no cash, until 9 am on race day. All proceeds benefit the Healthy Kids Running Series, which runs inclusive youth running programs, and a virtual 5K is offered for relatives who live away. The event goes on rain, snow or shine.
