The Holiday Hustle in Swedesboro on Saturday, December 12 is a dress-up-friendly holiday race on paved trails in and around the park, with the race address at 58 Locke Avenue and check-in from 8 am. The 5K and a longer 8K start at 9 am, and at 9:45 the one-mile Elf Dash gives little elves and anyone else a shorter run. Santa makes an appearance, hot chocolate and cookies follow, everyone gets a custom mug and a finisher medal that doubles as a tree ornament, and there are prizes for the best holiday outfit. After the awards, a free Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Mile has participants eat a cake before each quarter mile. Fees are $20 for the Elf Dash, $35 for the 5K and $45 for the 8K. The organizers collect hats, gloves and coats for Code Blue Cumberland County.
