About this adventure

Run for Pie is a Thanksgiving-morning 5K in Newark whose organizers invite people to walk it, jog it or run it, then enjoy a slice of pie and keep the mug. The race starts at 9 am on Thursday, November 26, at Glasgow Park on Route 40 (Pulaski Highway). The current fee is $35 through November 25, rising to $40 on race day. The race page is short and does not list a separate children's race, age groups or a course map, so families should treat it as a walk-friendly 5K and judge whether younger children can cover 3.1 miles. Timing is by Fusion Race Timing, whose site is linked from the race page. With a pie-and-mug finish and a walking option, it is an easy way for a Newark family to start the holiday together before the meal.
