A short, intimate Christmas train ride for families in Salem City run by Woodstown Central Railroad. Riders climb into a restored 1937 caboose decorated for the season for a 35-minute, roughly six-mile round trip through the Salem County countryside, with views of forests and farmland. Santa makes his way through the car to visit each family, and every child receives a special holiday gift. Check-in is with the ticket agent at Charles Pederson Park in Salem about 20 to 30 minutes before departure, and boarding starts roughly 15 minutes before the train leaves; the ride returns to the same spot. Its shorter length makes it a good first train trip for toddlers and preschoolers. Food, drinks, professional photos and transport to the park are not included, so bring a phone or camera for Santa pictures and dress for time outdoors. The historic equipment is not fully wheelchair accessible.
